About Steffi

Hi, I’m Steffi.

Spark Learning Collective grew out of years of working alongside children and young people who are often misunderstood - and the adults trying their very best to support them.

Throughout my work, I have seen how quickly children can be labelled, misread or expected to fit systems that were never designed with them in mind. I have also seen how much changes when adults are given the time, understanding and confidence to look beyond behaviour and ask better questions.

This work is rooted in listening. In curiosity.
And in the belief that understanding should always come before assumption.

A different way of looking

My perspective has been shaped through years of hands on work across performing arts, education, SEND aware practice and alternative provision - working closely with children, families, schools and professionals.

Again and again, the same patterns appear. Children communicating needs in the only ways they can. Adults feeling unsure, overwhelmed or unsupported. Systems pushing for quick fixes when what is really needed is understanding.

Spark Learning Collective exists to slow that process down.

Not to provide easy answers, but to create space for learning that actually makes sense in the real world.

The wider Spark work

Alongside this work, I also lead Sparkles Academy of Performing Arts and Spark Ignite - both shaped by the same values that sit at the heart of The Spark Learning Collective Group.

Each pathway looks different, but they share a common foundation:

  • children and young people deserve to be understood as whole individuals
  • behaviour is communication
  • confidence grows when people feel safe, seen and supported

Spark Learning Collective brings that thinking together - creating a place for reflection, learning and shared understanding.

What matters most

This work is not about expertise for the sake of it. It is about care, ethics and responsibility.

I believe that:

  • understanding changes outcomes
  • curiosity builds connection
  • learning should feel accessible, not intimidating
  • meaningful change takes time

Spark Learning Collective is not about having all the answers. It is about asking better questions and creating space for understanding to grow.

Moving forward

If this approach resonates with you, you are welcome to get in touch.

Whether you are a parent, carer, educator or professional, conversation is always a good place to begin.
